A Bit About Me
Yen Tan is a strength and wellness coach dedicated to helping individuals of all ages and abilities build confidence, resilience, and lifelong health through movement. With over 15 years of experience in leadership, coaching, and people development, Yen brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal passion to her work in fitness and community wellness.
Her coaching focuses on functional strength, inclusive fitness, and sustainable health. Yen works with a diverse range of clients including youth, seniors, beginners, and individuals with disabilities. She believes fitness should be accessible, supportive, and empowering — meeting each person where they are and helping them progress safely and confidently.
Yen’s experience includes working as a seniors strength trainer, adaptive fitness instructor, running guide for athletes with disabilities, and youth mentor. She is passionate about creating welcoming environments where individuals can develop strength, independence, and self-belief.
Before transitioning into fitness, Yen spent over 15 years in global human resources and leadership roles across Canada, Singapore, and the United States. This background strengthens her coaching approach, allowing her to connect deeply with clients, set meaningful goals, and support long-term behavior change.
Yen holds certifications in exercise science, nutrition, and coaching, and is currently pursuing her NASM Personal Trainer certification and ICF Associate Certified Coach credential. She is also certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
At the heart of Yen’s work is a simple mission:
To help people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier — at every stage of life.
