What is 707?
The 707 initiative honors the legacy of the user's late father, who built a small family-run detergent business rooted in service, kindness, and community. His dedication to treating every customer with equal care—and the support neighbors showed after his debilitating stroke—demonstrated the power of compassion and connection. Inspired by these values, the initiative now aims to transform unused spaces into community hubs that foster support, togetherness, and stronger neighborhood bonds.

History of 707
"The '707' initiative is a tribute to my late father, Tan Eng Khim, whose dedication to service and community left a lasting impact on me. In the 1970s, he started a home business selling '707' detergent—a true family effort where everyone pitched in. I fondly remember accompanying him on deliveries across the heartlands, witnessing firsthand his unwavering commitment to serving others.
He believed that no act of service was too small. Whether an order was for a single bottle or ten, he would deliver it with the same dedication. More importantly, he taught me the values of kindness, respect, and the importance of caring for our neighbors, regardless of our differences.
When he suffered a debilitating stroke in 2014 that left him bedridden, our neighbors rallied around us, offering their support and helping us sustain the business until it eventually closed in 2020. Their generosity reinforced the very lesson my father lived by—true community is built on service, compassion, and connection.
Inspired by his legacy, the '707' initiative seeks to continue this spirit of community service by transforming unused spaces into vibrant hubs where people can come together, support one another, and build stronger bonds
